As a busy mum myself, with 2 children under 2, I believe any exercise should be efficient and effective by working as many muscles all at once.

In today's society we are under so much pressure to look good, and fit a certain ideal, which to many is unrealistic. This month I am going to introduce you to the Kettlebell. This amazing exercise tool can help you burn, up to, 1000 calories an hour and get amazing results, in just 6 weeks. The great news is, you only need to do 20 minutes, 3 times a week to achieve these results.

The kettlebell is a cannon ball shaped weight with a handle, which originates from Russia. Some of the main exercises include swings, clean and press, snatches and turkish get up. However, you can apply most hand weight exercises to the kettlebell.

The advantages of the kettlebell are:

  • - You only need one piece of equipment - I would recommend 6kg starting weight for women and 8kg for men.
  • - No expensive gym membership is required
  • - You burn maximum calories per workout
  • - Only 20 minutes required to complete each workout
  • - You burn more fat in less time by working every muscle with each exercise.
  • - The kettlebell helps build lean muscle which tones your body and means you burn more calories at rest.

I would advise you learn any kettlebell exercises from a professional. If a few sessions with a personal trainer to get you started is unrealistic, go onto YouTube and type in kettlebell exercises or buy a kettlebell DVD. It is very important to see how the exercises are done before you start.
