    • Fitness Evaluation

      £0.00
We recommend that your first session with an RWPT personal trainer consists of a series of anatomical measurements and the use of appropriate fitness testing protocols to give a baseline to measure improvements against. The actual assessments carried out will be decided by the personal trainer taking into account your profile but may consist of: - Body Mass Index Body Fat percentage (can be carrried out with the state-of-the-art Bodystat 1500 machine) Sit up test (abdominal strength and endurance) Sit and reach (flexibility) Blood pressure Aerobic fitness Lung function In general, we like to carry out assessments around every six to eight weeks depending on your programme and circumstances. Fitness testing is the ideal way to set measurable goals for your personal training sessions.
    • Ante and Post-Natal Exercise

      £0.00
Pregnancy exercise (antenatal or prenatal exercise) Hormonal factors, alongside the changes in the shape of your body mean that specialised exercise techniques need to be considered, but you can still enjoy effective exercise sessions throughout your pregnancy. There is a wealth of evidence showing that women who exercise during their pregnancy reap the benefits in terms of: - Easier delivery and pregnancy Less back pain Reduced risk of stress incontinence Improved circulation (resulting in lower risk of varicose veins and haemorrhoids) Quicker recovery from delivery Raised self-esteem Lower pregnancy weight gain Reduced risk of diastasis recti (a split in the abdominal muscles) Post-natal exercise After the strains of pregnancy and labour, you need to make careful and informed exercise choices. Did you know that the hormone relaxin, which softens ligaments and joints can remain in the body for up to 6 months post-partum? With the demands of motherhood, Rob Woollen Personal Training have designed exercise sessions where you can bring baby along - making it easier to find time to exercise without having to worry about being away from your little one. Exercising after the birth (post-partum) has a host of benefits such as: - Reduced likelihood of PND (post-natal depression) Improved recovery from labour Functional strength and endurance to help with new tasks Faster return to pre-pegnancy fitness and weight levels
