Ian Mellis is the co-founder and Training Director of Results Fitness and Sports Training. Ian received his Masters in Sport Science: Assessment and Support, following on from his undergraduate degree in Sports Science. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Ian has helped individuals attain their fitness, body composition and performance goals with focused and organized training. With over 30,000 hours of one on one training Ian has a wealth of experience in a variety of fields including rehabilitation, sports performance and focused changes in body composition from the occasional exerciser to elite performers.

He has trained a variety of high profile individual’s including Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Olympic competitors from track and field, Rugby Union, National Level Swimmers, internationally ranked tennis professionals, national level hockey players as well as an abundance of time poor men and women looking for solutions to their health and fitness goals.

Ian has written as a fitness and nutrition expert for a number of publications including Men’s Fitness, Men’s Health, The Times, The Telegraph, Glamour, Marie Claire, The Huffington Post, Healthy Magazine, Rugby World, Runners World, Experience Life and Ultrafit. He has also been credited as a contributor to the books ”The PHA Workout” , “I Will Make You Fit Fast” and “Get Running” along with his own self- published review Fat Loss Optimization. He was featured by Men’s Health as the creator of “The World’s Most Efficient Workout.” and as the personal trainer for Batman (yes, Batman). He has also lectured in personal training, athlete development and fat loss both in the UK and abroad.

Sessions are coached in a group format in a high energy environment with a specific programme designed to elevate your metabolism and gain strength while keeping you motivated with fun and varied exercise. Each session can be customised to your needs so if you have an injury or other specific requirements you will be advised on a suitable intensity to work at by your coach. We have a wide array of clients ranging from 18 year old athletes to 76 year old retirees so this personalisation is something we do regularly. We have over 40 group sessions available in the mornings, evenings and weekends and can be booked to promote adherence and keep you motivated.

As all our programmes are individualized your programme may include a combination of weight training, conditioning and cardiovascular training. Your programme is customised to your needs so we will develop a nutrition plan that is specific to your dietary requirements. Nutrition is a big factor in weight loss so we utilise a programme built around your likes/ dislikes, food intolerances, activity level as well as other life pressures such as family and a busy work schedule. It may be that you want to lose a few pounds or you may be looking to transform your physique, in any case we can create a programme that works for you. For example we have members who have lost over 20kg!

      You receive a customised programme and exercise form guidance to help develop strength and conditioning while maintaining and developing lean muscle mass. Your training programme will involve more advanced forms of strength training/ conditioning and give a level of progression from our Group Conditioning Membership. This is more suitable for moderate to advanced exercisers/ self- motivated individuals/ athletes who also want the flexibility around our conditioning session start times. This programme will help you look, move and perform better, it can also be combined with our Group Conditioning Programme and Burn Fat Loss Programme.
