Fit4Two Ltd

I started fit4two to combine my passion for fitness and family with my professional midwifery experience. I am friendly and approachable, and it is my mission to make sure that you get the assistance you need, in classes, one on one, or even over the phone or coffee.

As well as being a qualified and experienced midwife, nurse and lactation consultant, I have a Level 3 Diploma in personal training and sports massage, and have undertaken Masters level studies in Nutrition and Dietetics at New York University.

My professional memberships include:

- Nursing and Midwifery Council,

- International Board of Lactation Consultants,

- Register of Exercise Professionals,

- Fitpro,

-Premier People,

-Stott Pilates,

- Federation of Holistic Therapists (Sports Massage).

To ensure that you benefit from the breadth of my experience, I employ a personal and hands on approach with all clients. Class sizes are kept small, and are tailored to the needs of the individual rather than the one-size fits all.

I live in St. Albans, and I teach and train in the St. Albans, Harpenden, and Radlett area. Mothers are welcome to bring babies along to personal training sessions and attend to the babies when needed.

I am a mother of two beautiful children, and I know how precious and special your children are to you, as well as the hard work and sleep deprivation involved. I exercised through and after both my pregnancies, and I know first hand the benefits.

“It is exercise alone that supports the spirits, and keeps the mind in vigor” - Cicero The ultimate fitness experience for expecting or new mothers is personal training with a specialist in maternal exercise. This will ensure that you get the dedicated focus you desire, and a program specifically tailored to your needs. A course of personal training starts with an individual assessment of your fitness, your objectives, and your medical history. From this, a personalized exercise and diet plan is produced, followed by one on one training sessions to make sure you stay on track. I can come to you and train you in the comfort of your own home or you can come to my home gym where I utilise gym equipment including a Powerplate, Pilates Reformer, stability chair, cable machine, exercise bike etc.

The body undergoes an amazing transformation during pregnancy, including the loosening of ligaments, retention of fluids, and changes in posture. These can result in muscle tightness in the neck, shoulders and back, or in sore legs. I am a qualified sports massage therapist. If you have any aches and pain or just want a relaxing massage because you are feeling stressed just give me a call. Massage can alleviate these aches and pains, in addition to reducing stress. Have some YOU time and book a massage.

“The only time to eat diet food is while you're waiting for the steak to cook” - Julia Child It is normal and healthy for a woman to gain weight during pregnancy. The normal guidelines for weight gain in pregnancy is approximately 10-12.5 kg (22-28lbs) depending on your body type. A healthy weight gain will reduce the risk of complications for you during pregnancy, labour and birth. I can help ensure that your diet is appropriate and nutritious for both you and your baby. Once you have had your baby, you should expect to lose the weight you have gained, but it is important to remember that this should be a gradual process, and is different for every woman. The amount and types of food you eat, your levels of physical activity, and whether or not you are breastfeeding will determine just how quickly you can expect to return to your desired weight. After completing a food diary for several days I can make recommendations on how to improve your diet, ensuring you eat quality foods, in the correct proportions, at the right time of the day - without feeling like you are on a diet or depriving yourself. It needn’t be difficult or time consuming. There may not even be big changes to make. Just a few subtle tweaks sometimes are enough to get you losing the fat, fitting into your pre-pregnancy clothes, having more energy to look after your family and feel better about yourself. Let me show you how!
