My name is Bobby Chin and I am a Personal Trainer and Sports Massage Practitioner based in Bradford West Yorkshire. My goals are to help others to achieve their fitness goals and whip them into shape or ‘back into shape’ as it were.

I have been an avid bodybuilder for 28 years which lead to my fascination of how the human body reacts to different types of training and the food that we put in it. I have worked in many gyms and health clubs over the past 15 years gaining an abundance of knowledge by working with and observing other trainers and learning how to, and more importantly how not to train people. I hold a BSc Hons degree in Health Related Exercise and Fitness and I am a HFST certified Sports Massage Practitioner.

My focus is on my clients. It is of the utmost importance to me that you as my client receive the best service available. The methods that I use are tried and tested by professional trainers with great success. There are no faddy exercises and diets prescribed here.

I will use scientifically based methods of functional training and optimum nutrition and apply them to you as an individual based upon your current physical condition and desired outcome. All that I require from you is your dedication to reach your goals. I will help you to stay focused and on track towards your goals by motivating you and giving you the knowledge that you require to do so.

      Nutrition is key when it comes to shaping and toning your body. The body is highly sensitive to the foods that we put into it. The composition of the various nutrients available to us must be correct in order for the desired changes to take place in our bodies. Planning your daily meals is just as important as planning your weekly workouts. As daunting as it all may seem, nutrition is basically very simple and easy to understand. It just takes a little time, patience, and practice to get used to using the basic principles of proper nutrition to get into the correct eating habits that will render your efforts worthy. A little discipline goes a long long way! We will work together to refine your current eating habits and put you on the right track to living a healthier and more rewarding lifestyle.       Building bigger and stronger muscles requires the stimulation and recovery of the muscle fibres. In order for a muscle to grow it must first be put under a considerable amount of stress by resisting a measured overload in a particular pattern of movement (weight/resistance training) in order to break down (use up) the muscle tissue. Once the muscle has been stimulated (broken down) it must then be followed up by a period of recovery for recuperation. During this period the muscles need to absorb certain nutrients from the bloodstream in order for them to respond and grow. More importantly if they are not fed the nutrients that they require the body will be in a nutrient deficiant state, having the reverse effect of the intended purpose, meaning that the body will break down further (suffer illness) and result in continued muscle breakdown instead of growing bigger and stronger. This is why it is very important to know what you are doing, and not to just go into the gym guessing how to train and then not eating the required nutrients. This can be very dangerous as wrong diet can and will shorten your lifespan. Nutrition is most definately Key! Whatever your muscle building goals are I will teach you the best and most efficient ways to build your body using the principles and methods used by the worlds most successful bodybuilders and athletes.

      The core muscles attach to and make up the muscles of the spine and the pelvis. They attach each vertebrae to one another (in various ways) and all of the joints attached to the spine and the pelvis. They are the deepest most primary muscles of the body. Your muscular foundation if you will. In order for your body to function optimally you must have a well balanced musculoskeletal system. Neglecting the core muscles is a common mistake. This can lead to muscle imbalances throughout the musculoskeletal system causing all sorts of problems and pain for people. There are various exercises that target the core muscles and their surrounding structures that should be done regularly in order to make and keep the core muscles strong and healthy. We will work together in order to strengthen your core so that no matter what type of activity that you are or wish to be involved in can be done to the best of your ability without any unnecessary injuries or restrictions due to core weakness/weaknesses. For in order to be truly strong you must first build a strong core!

      Bodyfat is stored when too much of certain types of foods are consumed. Coupled with a sedentary lifestyle the effects of a poor diet are increased further, leading to an even greater amount of bodyfat storage. Along with the right exercise programme a good clean diet will have your body burning any excess bodyfat as energy while at the same time building lean muscle tissue to support a strong and healthy structure. I will give you the knowledge of which foods aide in bodyfat storage and which foods aide in bodfat reduction. I will also clear up any conflicting beliefs that you may have about the types of exercise that you need/think that you need to do in order to burn excess bodyfat.
