I am a qualified personal trainer in Sutton Coldfield with a passion for health and fitness – mine and my clients’. I work in a private training studio used solely for personal fitness, giving my clients an exclusive place to train. Based in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, the gym is convenient for all of North and East Birmingham as well as Staffordshire.

We don’t have rows of machines with people working out like robots, all on the same regime. I’ll work one-to-one with you, and I’ll quickly find your level of fitness, your current diet and what you want to achieve. Only then can you and I start work on your own tailor-made personal training programme.

Having worked as a personal trainer within a national health & fitness chain, I felt that members weren’t always getting the best deal. Now that I’m running my own business, I know I can give clients a more personalised level of service and better results.

What I do

A personal trainer isn’t just for the rich and famous. In fact, with guaranteed results and agreed time frames, I really believe this is a more cost-effective way of achieving your goals than dragging yourself off to the gym week after week.

I offer a personal, individual and affordable solution to your health and fitness issues, whatever they may be. Sessions generally last from 45 minutes to an hour and no two are ever the same. And because no fitness programme is ever complete without considering diet and lifestyle, I factor these into the equation and offer guidance and support between sessions.

      There is far more to effective weight loss than cutting down on food. In fact, this approach can actually lead to weight gain. Long term weight loss relies on a sensible combination of healthy nutrition and hydration, plus an exercise programme based on your current weight and level of fitness. Unfortunately, there is no quick fix so we take the long term view, with the emphasis on a dietary programme you can follow and enjoy – not just for a few weeks or months but for the rest of your life. One of our most important tools in planning your programme is the food diary which I ask you to keep on a daily basis so we can understand your eating patterns and how they affect your weight loss. We can then make changes as necessary. As you start to lose weight and become more physically active, I monitor your progress not only with a regular weigh in, but also by taking your measurements every week. You’ll find that your changing shape is far more significant than what it says on the scales. We then make gradual adjustments as your body composition and metabolism change – so you continue to get the very best out of your programme.
    • Muscle Build

      I take my clients through a rigorous personal Muscle Build Programme, training twice a week. We concentrate on the major muscle groups; legs, chest, back and shoulders. What we do depends entirely on you, your current level of fitness and muscle mass, and what you want to achieve. And we don’t simply follow the same routine week after week. To keep things fresh and to keep you motivated, the session format changes regularly. On top of this, you’ll have a personal nutrition plan to make sure those muscles develop in peak condition.
    • Injury Rehabilitation

      Many people find that even though an injury itself may have been cured, they are still not fit enough to continue training – or living day-to-day life – as they did before. I work with clients to increase fitness and improve their all-round ability, with particular emphasis on restoring the injured part to normality and achieving optimum performance.
    • Sports Rehabilitation

      Sports Rehabilitation is all about returning the injured person to peak fitness and preventing further injury. Personal training sessions include postural and biomechanical assessments to check and correct the body’s alignment and quality of movement.
    • Tool Assisted Massage

      I also offer tool-assisted massage with fascia manipulation. This may well be unfamiliar and I’m very happy to explain or demonstrate it further if you give me a call. Basically, it is a technique which helps to release tight muscles, relieve pain and make your body perform better.
    • Nutrition

      Without a proper approach to food and hydration, any form of fitness training will be ineffective. Nutrition really is that important. Everything I’ve mentioned above will only work if you get your diet plan right. There is so much bad nutritional advice out there, it’s unsurprising that people just don’t know what to believe or where to turn. I don’t offer quick fixes, fads or crash diets. It’s simply good, healthy eating based on sound, proven scientific principles, concentrating on foods which will work with your body and, more importantly, that you can enjoy for the rest of your life.
